Daisy Child Development Center is located on a quiet residential street near the intersection of highways 13 and 580, just a few miles above Mills College.
The children enrolled at Daisy learn through play in four unique classrooms. The Center also features three outdoor playgrounds, outdoor gardens, mature fruit trees and a chicken coop.

Star Room
The Star Room serves children from 18 months to 2 years, 9 months. It is a room where children are free to play with a variety of manipulative and sensory materials, dress up costumes and musical instruments. The children in the Star Room also engage in creative arts and crafts, cognitive activities, singing, listening to stories and sounds recognition games. The Star Room also has an outdoor play area with toys and structures designed for their ages.
Rainbow Room
The Rainbow Room serves children 2 years, 9 months to 5 years old. The room features a variety of developmentally appropriate manipulative, artistic and dramatic play materials. The Rainbow Room has a well-stocked library and aquariums with a snake, frogs and walking sticks for the children to watch and touch. Children from the Rainbow Room play outside in one of the larger areas that include climbing and play structures, a sand box and space for painting or other artistic endeavors.
Galaxy Room
The Galaxy Room serves children 2 years, 9 months to 5 years old. The room features a variety of developmentally appropriate manipulative, artistic and dramatic play materials. Galaxy teachers give the children as much freedom as possible to explore their environment and their relationships to others while supervising closely to ensure that no harm comes to them. From day to day, the Galaxy Rangers cook, play, do manipulative table works and enjoy singing and playing music. Galaxy Rangers play outside in one of the larger areas that include climbing and play structures, a sand box and space for painting or other artistic endeavors.
Cloud Room
The Cloud Room serves children 2 years, 9 months to 5 years old. The room features a variety of developmentally appropriate manipulative, artistic and dramatic play materials. Cloud teachers encourage play, arts and crafts creation, cooking, singing and dancing. The children are encouraged to learn conflict resolution with guidance from the teachers, share and develop coping skills. Children from the Cloud Room play outside in one of the larger areas that include climbing and play structures, a sand box and space for painting or other artistic endeavors.
Playgrounds
There are three playground areas on site. One is dedicated to the Daisy toddlers and features age-appropriate equipment, room to paint, a sandbox and plenty of room to play. The second playground is great for small group play, has a sandbox and plenty of space for arts and play. The Big Yard is a large space, equipped with climbing structures, a basketball hoop (at toddler height), tire swing, sandbox and room for play, arts and crafts and wheeling around on one of the available riding toys.
Gardens
Daisy features a garden where children plant vegetables and learn how to care for plants. We believe that gardening brings children closer to nature, so during spring we involve them in cultivating the soil, planting seeds and caring for the budding plants. The campus also features a number of mature fruit trees.
